HealthSouth to Begin Hosting Amputee Support Group


Starting Wednesday, April 13, HealthSouth Chattanooga Rehabilitation Hospital will begin hosting a support group for amputees from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A complimentary lunch will be provided.

HealthSouth Celebrates National Patient Safety Week


HealthSouth Chattanooga recently celebrated National Patient Safety Week during the week of March 14 – 18. The interactive, educational activities were centered on the nautical theme of “Set Sail for Safety” and involved both patients and staff.

The event will occur during the lunchtime hour in Miller Plaza in downtown Chattanooga and will provide opportunities to learn about the warning signs and risk factors for stroke as treatment options for rehabilitation after stroke.

WRCB features a special about Stroke awareness. Scott Rowe, a physical therapist and CEO of HealthSouth Chattanooga Rehabilitation Hospital, discusses signs of a stroke and steps to stroke recovery.

To earn the certification, HealthSouth Chattanooga underwent a rigorous on-site survey on November 25, 2015.

Lauren Bates, Michelle Cowart, Angela Leffew, Michelle Martin, Tracy Mitchell, Catherine Patterson and Jennifer Pino are full-time registered nurses at HealthSouth Chattanooga who passed their certification tests in December.
